It's 7:00 p.m. on Monday night. We are leaving our hotel at 8:00 a.m. in the morning! Yahoo! We are soooo excited to go home and to get settled back in the States with Trey. We realize that tomorrow will be a LONNNGGG day of flights and time changes...but it will be well worth it to get settled and start our life together back at home.
Today we visited the Embassy to get Trey's visa. It was merely a formality to finalize everything and to get the documents necessary for him to immigrate into the United States. Therefore, he will officially be a U.S. citizen tomorrow! Actually, he will remain a Russian citizen for 3 years and then, we can opt to maintain dual citizenship or to let his Russian citizenship expire. Nonetheless, it's amazing that he will officially be a U.S. citizen tomorrow!
We can't wait to update you once we're home to give details on our trip, etc. Please bear with us, though...we are crossing several time zones and trying to establish our lives at home with this little ball of energy.... We hope to post soon...but it may be a few days.
Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers during this journey. We still can't believe it's all true!
God's Blessings,
Shane, Kathy, and Trey
